    This element of a healthy workplace refers to how well an organization supports employees to develop and maintain healthy behaviours (exercise, nutrition, sleep, etc.) reduce unhealthy/risky habits and make optimal use of health care opportunities.
  • Question: Describe your organization’s plan (e.g., assessment(s), priorities/goals, measurements/metrics) to encourage a healthy workplace, including examples of healthy lifestyles programs, practices currently provided to employees. Include information on how decisions for programs are made. (Maximum 400 words)

  • Mental Health & Workplace Culture

    This element of a healthy workplace refers to how the organization encourages a supportive workplace culture - the foundation of a healthy workplace. This includes how the culture is created, reinforced, and sustained, i.e., communication, patterns of relationships and values that have influenced employee health, safety and well-being (perceptions of trust, fairness, respect, diversity, inclusion, etc.).
  • Question: Describe how employees are involved and able to provide feedback and/or input on work-related matters such as supervision, productivity goals, work schedules, equipment, training, and the health, safety and wellness needs of their work environment. (Maximum 400 words)

  • Physical Environment

    This element of a healthy workplace refers to workplace due diligence regarding Occupational Health and Safety and managing workplace influences that may contribute to injuries, disabilities and/or fatalities. Physical environment also includes facilities design, air flow, noise, odour, lighting and other physical workplace factors that impact employee health and safety.
  • Question: Describe how your organization ensures a healthy and safe work place, including programs in place that support a physically healthy and safe workplace. (Maximum 400 words)

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

    This element of a healthy workplace refers to the interrelationship between the workplace, the community and employee health and well-being, as well as the health and performance of the organization, i.e, the ways organizations are involved in the community and how employees are encouraged to participate, volunteer, give back to the community, the environment and emergency response.
